When an Atlanta customer contacted us about problems with their water heater, Empire HVAC had the solution. The water heater had served the customer well for ten years without ever suffering a breakdown; however, recently the water heater could not keep up with the demand for hot water.
Empire HVAC performed a service check of the water heater and evaluated the home’s need for hot water. After speaking with the homeowner about the options, it was determined that the best course of action would be the replacement of the older inefficient water heater.
Empire recommended replacing the water heater with the new state of the art Marathon water heater series by Rheem. The new Rheem Marathon water heater offers an incredible lifetime tank warranty. The new non-metallic tank features a seamless, blow molded, extremely tough polybutene tank that is impervious to rust and corrosion. The tank is also wrapped with multiple layers of filament wound fiberglass that gives it unmatched strength. The Marathon tank is surrounded with a thick polyurethane insulation that reduces heat loss and reduces energy consumption. This thick insulation gives the Marathon water heater an efficiency rating of .90-.94 EF. This provides both reduced standby heat loss and a quicker recovery rate. The Marathon provides an incredible 20 gallons per hour recovery at a 90-degree temperature rise. A recovery rate of 20 GPH combined with the standby reservoir provides a much higher volume of hot water than traditional water heaters. The outer shell of the Marathon is a tough molded polyethylene.
