The East Atlanta Community Association is very active in making sure that the neighborhood has a higher quality of living through volunteerism, community events, and establishing policy in the interests of the neighborhood. Taking care of their neighborhood and the people in it is a big part of the vibe in East Atlanta.

The East Atlanta Village is the commercial and communal hub of this vibrant neighborhood. One of the main events of the year is the annual East Atlanta Strut.  in September. It’s one of the most unusual and wild parades that you’ll witness. It starts at the corner of Patterson and Glenwood avenues and goes to Moreland Avenue. Festivities, music, contests, and fun for the kids are found all around the neighborhood. Brownwood Park has the Kid Zone, while the EAV Farmer’s Market is the Headquarters for the event. 

During the rest of the year, the EAV Farmer’s Market is recognized as the best in the area. It happens on Thursdays from 4-8 on Stokeswood Avenue. There’s music, vendors, fresh produce, and cooking demonstrations. With such an emphasis on community and neighbors helping neighbors, we really enjoy going into East Atlanta to help residents there with their AC and heating needs.
